When it comes to final color output, I'm outputting within Adobe's range of applications. Things are even better combining the strengths of both applications. Likewise Illustrator can do certain things better than CorelDRAW.
Corel has some unique tools Illustrator lacks. I like to use Illustrator and CorelDRAW together for building graphics. Illustrator generates cleaner, more precise graphics effects, such as outlining effects around letters or other objects. Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign can specify object sizes up to 4 decimal places, but at the cost of a smaller maximum art board size (227" X 227"). CorelDRAW can specify object sizes up to 3 decimal places. The artboard in CorelDRAW can support objects up to about 100' X 100'.

I really like its capability for generating giant sized artwork, like billboards and signs at full size. It's a great application to use for building technical-oriented vector-based artwork. If thats not precise enough for you, then I don't know what it is.ĬorelDRAW is a good rival to Adobe Illustrator. I'll try the demo soon.Ĭorel lacks precesion? You can resize and lay everything out to a ten of a millimeter, possibly even more. I just got into weddings this year and am now considering that software. For sure it sounds like a terrific package. you do need the best version, but he also expanded on other features of that version. He confirmed my 2 page spread interpretation. the fellow who handled my call spent 15 minutes on the phone with me. I have to say their 'support' is amazing. I was puzzled as to whether I was interpreting that correctly or not so I called them. I learned that to be able to create and edit a 2 page spread, you need to have the best version. Yesterday after reading your post I visted their site and looked at the feature comparison. Yes, all the things it does can be done in PS, it just makes it quicker and easier for most of them, and that time saved is a great thing!

BUT, invest a little time to learn the software and you'll be whipping things out faster than you can imagine! I now use FF for contacts, client thank you's, and did a whole seasons worth of promotional signage and posters with it in a FRACTION of the time it would have taken is PS. The workings of Fotofusio is a little counter-intuitive to someone used to corel or PS as it was designed to be a "scrapbooker" market software, so things dont always make sense right away to someone used to using higher end graphics, layout or even DTP software in the past. I bought this software mostly for doing composites after watching David Ziser demo it at his tour this year and have been impressed by the things it can do quicker and easier than I can in Photoshop or Corel, both of which I'm well experienced in.
